Quantity surveyor wanted for Tier 1 main contractor working on HS2 schemes in St Albans/Euston

Company:

Tier 1 irish main contractor with a 1bn turnover across the UK. They work across infrastructure projects including rail, civils, highways, aviation.

Role:

Working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, to maximise commercial returns & manage risk.

50,000 - 65,000 + package dependent on experience Key Responsibilities

  • Support the commercial team
  • Prepare tenders - measure, put into packages, analyse
  • Prepare variations/valuations
  • Prepare Final Accounts
  • Prepare s/c valuations
  • Attend site client meetings
  • Prepare client quotations/Estimates
  • Liaise with site management
  • Consider Risk & opportunity
  • CVR
  • Cash management
  • Understand & assist in the implementation of the commercial strategy
  • Involved with & take some responsibility on traditional contracts
  • Negotiation with subcontractors

Experience & Skills

  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools
  • Able to manipulate, manage/interrogate data
  • Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement
  • Demonstrate potential for clear written & oral communications
  • Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness
  • Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Required Qualifications/Training

  • Completed a qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND/HNC Upwards)
  • Preferable to be studying towards Chartership
